History/Backround
The religion started to be practiced somewhere around 550 B.C.E., though it wasn't that serious, yet. Somewhere between the third to fourth century B.C.E, Laozi(Lao Tzu) wrote a document about Daode jing(Tao Te Ching),which focuses on Tao is the "way" or "path". But this wasn't a religion until the Way of the Celestial Masters sect was founded in 142 C.E. by Zhang Daoling, who based taoism from the document by Laozi. The religion is practiced mostly in China, but it is also practiced in Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Veitnam.
Some of the holy places of Taoism is the Baxian Gong or the Eight Immortal Palace(first picture.) It's named after the Eight Immortals, who are saints to Taoists. Another is Chongyang Gong(second picture.) Where the founder of Quanzhen Taoism, engaged in religious practice in the twelfth century.
